DARLINGTON, Wis. (AP) -- Lafayette County authorities say this weekend's snow and ice led to a fatal crash. It's the county's first traffic death of the year.

Chief deputy John Reichling says two vehicles collided Saturday about 5:45 p.m. near Darlington.

One vehicle was driven by 25-year-old Lilia P. Moreno-Landero of Darlington. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other driver was a 51-year-old Belmont woman, who was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The accident remains under investigation, although Reichling notes that the road was snow-covered and slippery.

Both women were wearing seat belts.
