Lutheran High School Groundbreaking

It's a plan that's been on the drawing board for a few years and it's getting closer to reality now. Officials held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Wisconsin Valley Lutheran High School on Sunday.

The school for up to 200 students will be located on Maple Ridge Road, half a mile west of I-39. It will include a gymnasium, five classrooms, a commons area and administrative offices. The curriculum will focus on college prep courses but will cater to those with special needs as well.

Enrollment is scheduled to take place in a few months. The private high school will be open to anyone in the area from Merrill to Stevens Point. Wisconsin Valley Lutheran is set to open in the fall of 2004.
