Mouse is a cat that was rescued from the Marathon County Humane Society about five years ago.
Employees at the shelter like to claim the best cats come from the Marathon County Humane Society, but now they can actually say a famous one does.
Once Mouse, or Nana as she was named at the shelter, was rescued she became a show cat and met some important people. Before her owner Vivian Frawley new it, Purina put Mouse on the front of their cat food.
"I actually went to the stores looking for the bag because it was so exciting for something to happen like this,” said Robin Martinez of the Marathon County Humane Society.
Vivian said the first time she saw Mouse on the bag, she went a little “freaky.”
"I just went that's my cat! That's my cat! And there was no one anywhere to tell."
But even when Vivian found people to tell, they didn’t believe her. She says people humor her when she walks up to the checkout with a bag of the food and tells the cashier it’s her cat Mouse that’s on the bag.
It is in fact Mouse on the Purina cat food bag though, and Vivian says seeing her on the bag never gets old.
"When I go to the grocery store and I go "Hi Mouse" and fix up her package to make sure it looks really nice,” she said, laughing.
