David Wooley was convicted of stealing a 12-inch bear clan carving from an American Indian museum.
It still hasn't been recovered, but he'll have to serve the sentence after he finishes his 15-year prison term for stealing Indian artifacts from the society's museum. The 2001 conviction stems from his time as curator.
Wooley's attorney had asked that he be allowed to serve the two sentences concurrently. He says the 57-year-old might not survive prison.
A judge rejected that request.
