Two hunters found a meth lab Wednesday morning in northern Marathon County.

Investigators say the site had either produced meth in the past or was a dumpsite for a meth lab. While the Sheriff's Department was on the scene, David Schaefer drove up the dead end road to where the lab was located.

Police found marijuana and meth in his car, but Schaefer says the lab wasn't his. Schaefer has been charged with illegal storage of anhydrous ammonia (the gas used to make methamphetamine), and possession of marijuana.

Investigators say just disposing of the anhydrous ammonia alone could cost a few thousand dollars.
