The UW-Stevens Point campus was bustling Monday. Hundreds came to hear speakers talk about leadership skills at the Laird Youth Leadership Day and, as expected, protesters showed up as well.
The high school students from across Wisconsin taking part in the conference came to listen to speakers with real world experience in government affairs. They also heard the views of a group of mostly Stevens Point residents who came to protest the Bush Administration's policies.
Students told us the rally didn't disrupt their sessions, though some felt it was out of place.
"They were kind of yelling stuff at us and I thought that was kind of rude. We were just here to learn about leadership," said Berlin High Schooler Greta Koch.
