Hundreds of people waited hours for their chance to speak in front of the Joint Finance Committee Monday in Rhinelander.

The public hearing was to gather comment on the state's budget crisis. Everyone who spoke asked the committee to reduce cuts or increase funding to their favorite program.

About 70 students from Northwoods schools asked committee members to restore state aid to their schools.

A nursing home director asked for more money to care for the elderly. The listening session lasted seven hours.
