Just before 8 a.m. Thursday morning a fire took the life of an 86-year-old man in Wisconsin Rapids.
The fire department says the fire started in and was contained to the bedroom of the one story house.
Neighbors say the man wasn't able to get around very well, and his body was found in his bed.
His son-in-law discovered the fire. The man activated his lifeline, a device that alerts relatives about a medical emergency, and his son-in-law found the smoke and called for help.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation but foul play is not suspected.
