The Clark County Sheriff says 45-year-old Mary Frick is the woman who was found dead in a rural Granton home Tuesday morning.

He says an autopsy shows she died of a single gun shot wound to the head.

Authorities haven’t ruled out the possibility of suicide yet but they haven’t ruled out the possibility of murder either.

The sheriff says they received a call from an adult male living with Frick Tuesday morning reporting she had been shot.

They say the man was very distraught when authorities arrived.

They would not say whether he witnessed the shooting or even who he was.

Frick’s body was found in the home’s kitchen and authorities say the area around it showed no signs of a struggle.

The sheriff says the man who called 911 was questioned at length, did not admit to killing Frick and was released.

"Are we eliminating him as a suspect? Absolutely not. No. That's not the case,” Clark County Sheriff Louis Rosendich said. “We did what we had to do."

He says they aren’t sure where that male is at this time, but reiterated they do not feel there is any danger to the public.

Investigators say they’re waiting for autopsy and forensic reports before they release any more information.

The home where Frick was found was treated as a crime scene. Sheriff Rosendich would not comment on what was sent to the crime lab for evaluation.
