SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (AP) -- Minnesota-based Pentair Inc. says it will close its Sheboygan plant by June and eliminate about 350 jobs.

Pentair makes commercial and residential water-filtration units. It said Tuesday it also will close a Sheboygan Falls distribution center.

Pentair spokeswoman Rachael Jarosh says work done in Sheboygan will be moved to other plants in the United States, Mexico and China. Some Sheboygan workers could be offered jobs at plants in Delavan, Brookfield, Glendale and elsewhere.

Workers leaving the Sheboygan plant Tuesday said they weren't surprised by the news.

Jarosh says the changes should improve Pentair's manufacturing capacity and lower its overall costs.

Pentair is based in Golden Valley, Minnesota. It employs about 16,000 people in more than 20 countries and had revenues of $3.3 billion in 2007.
