The Vilas County Sheriff's Department helped West Virginia authorities execute a search warrant on Jeffrey Lee Finley, 33, back in March 2002 for bodily fluids. After a positive match, Finley was monitored and arrested today as a suspect in the murder of an elderly woman.
Vilas County officers arrested Finley at his Arbor Vitae home without incident. He's being held pending extradition to West Virginia.
It's unknown whether Finley is linked to any local crimes and not clear whether he has any ties to northern Wisconsin.
Finley will be charged with first-degree homicide.
