UW Stevens Point's 13 residence halls have been added to the list of places where you cannot smoke. The policy change was just approved by the Residence Hall Association.
Starting next fall, students will need to be 30 feet from any campus building before they light up.
Currently, nine of the halls allow smoking on certain floors. But as part of a general wellness campaign UW S.P. won't allow smoking inside any buildings.
The University is considering building a number of roofed, shelters where smokers can congregate to get out of the wind or rain.
All of the rooms where smoking is currently allowed will be thoroughly cleaned before anyone moves in next fall.
