There has been talk of shutting down the Scott Elementary School to help balance the Merrill School District budget. But Superintendent Frank Harrington says closing the school is not part of his budget cutting plan.
At a meeting Thursday night at the Merrill High School, Harrington presented his list of budget cuts to the community and asked for suggestions.
Parents, teachers and students attending the meeting offered advice for how to eliminate $1.1 million from the district budget.
The suggestions included cutting down sports, the school administration, and teachers.
