The Department of Natural Resources told hunters at a meeting that it appears that Marathon County is free of Chronic Wasting Disease. That's based on test results from last season.
Wildlife Biologist Rick Weide says the morale among hunters in our area is a positive one.
Weide expects the deer hunt this fall to go on as usual with all the special hunts.
