Convicted felon Glen Steger, who police say was found with dozens of illegal weapons at his Plover home, will make his plea to eight felonies later this month.

The 58-year-old appeared in Portage County court Tuesday. He's being charges with posessing fire arms as a felon, and posession of body armor, silencers, electric weapons and improvised explosive devices.

Because Steger is a convicted felon, the charges are more severe.

Steger was convicted of bail jumping and armed robbery with a concealed identity in 1986.

According to the criminal complaint, on June 17th Plover police attempted to serve Steger with a warrant for his arrest out of Green Lake County for sexually assaulting a child.

When they served the warrant, police say Steger admitted he had a variet of weapons hidden throughout his home.

Police confiscated 11 firearms, a stun gun, ammunition, a pipe bomb and live hand grenades among items.

They also found a manual for building explosives, a backpack filled with survival equipment and handwritten notes on combat shooting.

According to the criminal complaint, when Steger was asked what all the weaponry was for, he said that he likes to tinker around and build things.

Steger is being held in Portage County Jail on $75,000 bond and will appear in court for his preliminary hearing on Tuesday, July 15th.
