A plea hearing for an alleged cult leader in Juneau County has been put on hold because his attorney has issues with the arraignment.

A motions hearing is now scheduled for August 5 for Alan Bushey. He's accused of helping to hide a dead member of his religious group for two months.

Prosecutors say Bushey, 57, and another sect member, Tammy Lewis, kept the body of a 90-year-old woman on Lewis' toilet for approximately two months so that they could collect the woman's Social Security and annuities.

Because Lewis' two children lived at the home, Bushey is charged with two counts of causing mental harm to a child. He's also charged with hiding a corpse and two counts of theft.
