We now know the names of two teens that died after a crash involving a school bus in Waupaca County, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol.

State Patrol says the crash happened just after 10 pm Friday on Bean City Road, near County Highway W, in the Town of Mukwa, near New London High School.

A car traveling southbound was coming around a curve, and veered into the northbound lane of traffic, colliding with the bus. The two people inside of the car, both 17-years-old, were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car was Yalanda Maggio from Weyauwega. The other victim was Levi Johnson from New London. Neither of the occupants where wearing a seat belt.

The school bus was carrying 39 children from New London Middle School, two adult chaperons and the driver. The bus was headed to New London Middle School, returning from ski trip at Nordic Mountain.

State Patrol officials say the roads were slippery at the time and are thought to be a factor.

According to State Patrol, three children from the bus and the bus driver were taken to the hospital for minor injuries. The driver was 67-year-old James Scharenbroch of Appleton. They have since been released from the hospital and are said to be healing from their injuries.

The State Patrol is still conducting the investigation.
