Court records show divorce proceedings are pending in Marathon County between Chueng Lee and his wife, one day after she said she wants to reconcile.

Lee pleaded no contest Tuesday during day three of his trial to recklessly causing great bodily harm and reckless driving causing great bodily harm. All previous charges in Shawano and Marathon Counties were dropped.

He was accused of unbuckling his wife's seatbelt and intentionally crashing their vehicle into a bridge in western Shawano County in September 2007.

Following the plea agreement, Lee's wife asked the judge that there be no order stopping her from seeing her husband because she loves him and wants to keep the family together.

The two felonies Lee pleaded no contest to carry a maximum sentence of 16 years in prison and a $35,000 fine, however the state is recommending Lee serve no more than eight years in prison.

Lee is scheduled to be sentenced August 5.

mosinee: keep you comments to yourself. He is innocent till proven guilty & since he pleaded "NO CONTEST", he is not guilty. I'd like to see you go up to his family & say what you wrote cause trust me, his family would be furious that some strnger is making thses bad comments about the family! Dont foreget he served as a policeman for over 20 years. Dont forget that!

okay first of all let me make this clear. He never abused his wife or his kids. His wife even said so. If you listened to her 1st testimony, she said that he never laid a hand on her. If you dont know the family, your you should have kept an open mind about this case. There family is greiving and for you to say that they are clinging onto their abuser is totally wrong. Behinf every loving family, there are problems. The only problems this family had was between the wife & husband. So please dont go aroung telling people this family was abused.

A good person at heart, come on! Nowhere in my definition of "a good person" does it say that even if you are very angry or upset it's okay to abuse or try to kill your wife. My opinion is that the wife and family are truly showing the signs of being abused simply by clinging to their abuser. Yet another example of the power of abusive "brainwashing"

as you all can read. His family wants him back home. They love their dad & so does his wife. Cheung is a good person at heart.
