MILWAUKEE (AP) -- A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in an attack on a Milwaukee County bus driver that was captured on a widely publicized videotape.

Authorities say the teen had been kicked off a bus earlier in the day by a different driver for having a fake pass.

The surveillance video showed the attacker, in a red sweat shirt and bandanna, hitting the driver repeatedly as the driver tried to fend him off while continuing to drive.

The assailant also grabbed the steering wheel and hit the gas. The bus eventually went into a tree and the assailant fled.

The teen was arrested after someone recognized him on the tape and called authorities.

Sorry: this little boy is a punk. There were punks before corrupt governments and there will be punks after we've attained a utopian society. This is something than many people can't (or don't want to) understand: there are people who are just plain punks. It doesn't matter if they came from the worst slums in the US, or the richest mansion in Boston - they are punks. Environment counts for a little of what makes up a person, but it seems that we are so willing to absolve these punks of their PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY. What a concept. Throw this punk in jail for a few months and mandate anger management classes for a few years.

Do we wonder why our youth is so angry? With the prime examples of governmental officials who can lie, cheat, and steal, as well as the mentality of war that seems to permeate the newspapers, and TV, the concept of hitting, shooting, and displaying your frustrations in violent way is what adults in power do - why do we expect our teenagers who need a bit more maturing to enter the ranks of the name of "adults" to be shining examples of how people should treat other people. When the adults, corporations and even the White House can show that people mean more than oil, money, or power, then we have a chance to change the mindset of the younger generation. If we are the benchmarks of success for those just entering the realm of jobs, family responsibilities, money problems, gas prices, high food costs and unemployment possibilities, then I believe we have to clean up our act as adults. After all, any action speaks louder than words and lately "actions" are screaming for a change.
