Authorities are still investigating the cause of a fire that destroyed a town of Maine home Friday night.

The fire happened at the intersection of Wausau Avenue and North 32nd Avenue.

The Rib Mountain Fire Department responded to the blaze just before 10 Friday night after receiving a call from a neighbor who spotted the fire.

The town of Maine Fire Department responded along with Rib Mountain firefighters, but by the time they arrived the home was engulfed in flames.

“We had made the determination pretty shortly after we arrived that there was nobody in the residence,” said Captain Josh Finke of the Rib Mountain Fire Department. “At that point we protected the exposure so no other buildings got involved.”

There were no injuries resulting from the fire but the home is being considered a complete loss.
