The state Department of Natural Resources said Friday no new cases of Chronic Wasting Disease were found in the latest round of testing.
Some 1,300 tissue samples were analyzed in the last week. All tested negative.
Lab technicians have examined more than10,000 tissue samples so far and found 55 infected deer. Hunters have submitted more than 38 and a-half thousand deer heads for examination.
Last week, the DNR found five diseased deer just outside the eradication zone west of Madison. The first 50 diseased deer were found in that 411-square-mile area.
