The search for whomever set fires in dorms on the UW Stevens Point campus is heating up. Two different agencies have now increased the rewards they're offering for information leading to an arrest.

In October, police said 10 fires were started in five dorms on campus. The fires were usually started with paper posted on bulletin boards. The fires would happen late on Friday or Saturday nights.

Four fires were started during the school's homecoming weekend. Six happened the following weekend.

"The university's upped its portion to $5,000 and the Portage County Crimestoppers has upped to $1,000," said John Taylor, the acting director of protective services.

Protective services had previously been offering a $1,000 reward, but decided to increase it in the hope of giving anyone with information an added incentive to come forward.
