A Weston family is trying to see what they can salvage from a devastating fire that destroyed their home. The house caught on fire early Wednesday morning with Terry and Lois Jakel still inside. The home is a total loss, but fortunately the Jakels made it out.
Terry Jakel says his mother is still in the hospital. He says her lungs took in a lot of smoke from the fire.
"She'll be okay," Jakel said. "They're just getting the stuff out of her lungs, that's all."
Terry's mom is recovering at Community Health Care in Wausau. Jakel says the family hasn't decided yet whether they will try to rebuild their house.
