Leilani Neumann, the mother of 11-year-old Madeline Neumann who passed away from an untreated diabetic condition Sunday, posted about religious experiences and beliefs on www.americaslastdays.com, a website of a religious group called the 'Unleavened Bread Ministries'.
Leilani and her husband Dale told Everest Metro police they did not seek medical help for their sick daughter, because they believed their faith and prayers would heal her.
On the website, a poem posted under 'Poetry of Leilani Neumann' states:
I'm Tired of It!
"I'm tired of it, I've had enough
This girl's gonna make it, even if it's rough.
The road appears hard and lonely,
Even though the Spirit says it's not.
I'm just tired of the way it's been
And determined the old life's gotta stop.
Why do I have to climb this mountain?
Because I need to get to the top.
Jesus, it will be worth it, if I don't give out.
So thanks for making me tired of it, now my road leads up."
In a separate post by Leilani Neumann, the girl's mother speaks of "visions" she had, and quotes a bible passage which states, "They shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. "
The post is as follows:
"They Shall Speak with New Tongues
Leilani Neumann - 2/28/08
Last Wednesday morning (a week ago), The Lord got me up early to pray. I didn't have a hard time focusing, since a spirit of intercession was upon me and I only felt led to pray in tongues, not knowing what I was praying for. After a few minutes, I had an open vision where I saw two ladies from the Women of Favor group I teach on Wednesdays sitting on the sofa where they might normally sit. I saw myself telling the first lady, Debbie, who by the way was our very first customer at our coffee shop, MOnkey MO, how to receive the Holy Spirit. She attends a Catholic church and has only been coming to WOF for maybe four times, so she doesn't know too much of the Bible, but has enjoyed our study as we have been going through Genesis.
In this vision, I was letting her know she didn't need to know too much about the Holy Spirit, but that it is in the Bible and it was poured out on the disciples, and has continued to this day. I told her she could receive it by faith, because I was filled with the Holy Spirit and I was going to lay my hands on her and if she had faith to receive it, she would receive it. I also saw myself turn to the person next to her which was Althea Wormgoor, who has recently come to WI from CA. The Wormgoors coming to WI was a total miracle of God, because Althea's husband is 100% Dutch and has attended a Dutch Reform Church his whole life until they came to join us here in WI.
The Dutch Reform Church does not speak of the Holy Spirit nor do they baptize adults, but I was acquainted with Althea via homeschooling and MOPS for many years (she was the first lady who befriended me when we first moved out to CA), but Randall did not really know us at all. We only saw him twice at birthday parties for the kids before they came here.
Anyway, Althea was on my email list and was receiving my emails, but Randall was reading them and God touched his heart. The hunger for God's Word in Randall has led them all the way to WI to study with Dale and I. Althea had been fighting receiving the Holy Spirit as the scripture says, because of prior teaching. We had recently advised the Wormgoors to study about being filled with the Holy Spirit on their own and wait for revelation, because we had already gone through the scriptures many times with her and didn't want a religious spirit to hinder her from receiving this outpouring. But in the vision I saw myself also lay hands on her to be filled, and she also was filled.
This vision gave me great faith and I knew that The Lord was going to reenact this vision that very day in WOF. During that morning The Lord began to clarify more and more to me about how faith works and how His Spirit works, reminding me about David Eells' story of the motorcycle accident he had, and how The Lord prepared David in how to stand on his bike through three visions, so that he would survive when the accident occurred later.
I knew from The Lord that my vision was preparation in the Spirit for what would take place in the natural. Many times The Lord has told me things that are going to happen many years down the road, but this was the first time I had experienced this kind of preparation for that very day. It was a new step of faith for me, so I knew I had to do it right away before I started teaching because the topic was something that needed to be spiritually discerned.
Putting aside any natural reservation I plowed forward so I wouldn't hesitate and lose what God wanted to happen. I began reenacting the vision and asked Debbie if she had faith for this to happen and she said yes, even though she was kind of scared about what she might feel or experience. Then I asked Athea if she wanted me to pray for her. She repeated that she already had this through accepting Christ as her Savior, so I told her, "Okay, you don't have faith for it, so I'll just pray for Debbie." When I laid my hands on Debbie with complete faith in obedience, the power of God fell on her and she immediately felt the Holy Spirit fill her with His Presence. While this happened, she told us later, she saw Jesus comforting her and letting her know this was from Him and not to be scared. After sitting back down, the energy of God was going through my hands in such a powerful way I felt like I had to release it and pray for others, so I laid my hands on the three other Spirit-filled women and they were ministered to by the Spirit.
By now I had gone full circle and come back to Althea, who had been observing everyone being supernaturally touched. I could tell she now had enough faith at that moment and was ready to receive. I quickly asked her permission first, then I laid my hands on her and she began crying and saying, "Thank you Jesus!" as the Spirit filled her.
Well, the next day being Thursday, when my husband and I normally meet with the Wormgoors, Randall had a symbolic dream, a sign to us that God was truly manifesting Himself in this couple's life in a spiritual way. It was also revealed through the gifts that Randall would receive more dreams and spiritual wisdom; also that The Lord was going to send Althea through "prophetic school," at least that's what I call it. Basically it's a place where she is taught how to operate in the gifts and where The Lord increases one's understanding of spiritual things in a measure they cannot understand in the natural.
Again, Dale and I laid hands on them and prayed, "Receive Ye The Holy Spirit," just like I did on these women in WOF. I will say, the first time I heard someone saying this and being a vessel in this way, it was new to me and I did not quickly want to receive it, but on that morning this was one of the things The Lord told me not to be afraid to do and say, reminding me that the apostles laid hands on people in this way, and showing me we also have this liberty through Christ.
I feel God saying it is time for believers to step forward in obedience and faith and signs will follow.
Mark 16:17-20
17 And these signs shall accompany them that believe: in my name shall they cast out demons; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 they shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall in no wise hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. 19 So then The Lord Jesus, after he had spoken unto them, was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. 20 And they went forth, and preached everywhere, The Lord working with them, and confirming the word by the signs that followed."

Neglect is a form of abuse & in this case child abuse. I hope that Leilan & Dale Neumann spend sometime in jail for letting their daughter die. It was both needless & senseless and a grim example of their own selfishness.
These parents should be charged with child abuse and negligent homicide. What a disgrace for anyone to defend their actions in ignoring the suffering of an innocent child and causing her death by not getting her some medical attention. You can scream "freedom of religion" forever but no one has the "freedom" or the "right" to treat a child like this. If you as an adult want to pray over your own sick body until you rot and die, that is your choice. This poor innocent child had to choice. She was the victim of her parents ignorance and stupidity. No one who is truly religious or caring would EVER condone treating a child this way. I am appalled that the other two children are still in that home. What is wrong with this society that we don't deal with this kind of problem? Had these parents been high on drugs or alcohol and had neglected their child and refused to get medical assistance and the child died as a result, you can bet they would already be in a courtroom seeking bail.
