Tammy Armstrong claims she killed John Maier in self-defense.
Armstrong says that she and Maier had an argument and she shot him because she was afraid of him. But prosecutors say that was not the case; she shot him intentionally.
Models of how the bullets entered Maier's head indicated that he was most likely sitting down when he was shot.
The bullet entry wounds were also toward the back of his head.
Taylor County Judge Gary Carlson told Armstrong that he did not believe her story of self-defense and sentenced her to 30 years in prison and 60 years of extended supervision after she is released.
