It worked through the night, and finally voted 11-to-5 Friday (June 10, 2005) morning.
The plan calls for $460 million to go to schools over the next two years.
Gov. Doyle is probably upset; he wanted $940 million. The committee is also calling for tax cuts on Social Security and gas, and limits on property taxes.
Doyle has vetoed that idea before. The budget now goes to the full Legislature.
