Environmental upgrades and other costs will more than double the price of the Weston Arrowhead Transmission Line.
The American Transmission Company says the price hikes mean the Public Service Commission will have to re-approve the line at the new price.
Save Our Unique Lands is a group opposed to the line, and they say the new cost makes finding an alternative to the line that much more important.
The line was supposed to cost $165 million, but now is estimated at $396 million, and all those costs will be passed on to the ratepayer.
Every household will see a 1 percent increase in their bill. That only works out to $.50 a month for the average family, but SOUL says its still too much.
