Spencer Barn Fire Update

The fire chief says a barn fire outside of Spencer started in a water heater.

Crews were called to the scene after 7 Monday (3/7/05) morning. They there until 6 p.m.

The chief says the strong wind caused the flames to spread quickly.

An estimated 110 to 120 head of cattle died in the fire which caused an estimated half a million dollars in damage.

Luckily, no humans were hurt.
