The Wausau School Board caused an uproar when it approved a retirement package worth hundreds of thousands of dollars for outgoing Superintendent Dr. Charles Skurka at a time when a budget crunch is forcing cuts in other areas.

The School Board met in a closed session Monday evening, with the words "Administrative Compensation" as the only item on the agenda.

The board is also scheduled for closed session Tuesday morning with a news conference to follow at 11 a.m. We'll have the latest on NewsChannel 7 at Noon.
