Sujo John moved to the U.S. from India just seven months before the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center. It was literally a life-altering experience for him, one that he now shares with people all over the world.
September 11th started out as any normal day for Sujo John who worked on the 81st floor of the World Trade Center's north tower.
He went about his business sending e-mails and faxes that morning, but little did he know his life would change forever shortly after that when American Airlines Flight 11 hit the tower.
"The next thing that happened, there's fire all over the floor, there's a huge crater, we could see then floors directly above us. The steel was squeaking, and for a moment I thought the building would go down," John says.
It took John an hour to reach the ground level. He says all he could think about was his pregnant wife who worked in the second tower.
He prayed with other survivors shortly before the towers collapsed, but he managed to escape death again, and then his wife called letting him know she was okay.
"She was delayed to work by five minutes, and that spared her life, so we finally meet each other at 4:30, and it was an amazing moment for us, one moment of truth when we truly believed each of our lives was spared," he says.
Now John shares his survival story all over the world. He says his faith in God played a large role in helping him through the horrific events of 9/11 and it's taught him some important lessons he now spreads through his story.
"The most important thing I learned is that you never know what a day could have in store for you," he says.
John has shared his story with thousands of people in over 300 cities around the world.
