The less fortunate in Marathon County are getting some much-needed help. In fact, several building contractors in our area dumped a truckload of donations off at the Salvation Army in Wausau.
The members of the Central Wisconsin Contractor Association started shopping at 7:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
"We want to give back to the community," said Mike Quilty, president of the association, "being as we're all local contractors doing this."
"I believe the news media, and I don't mind saying that," smiles the Salvation Army's Major Carol Lemirand, "has really covered the need of the people in our community and the economy. The last couple of weeks we've just had a numerous amount of groups who've said, 'how can we help'?"
The contractors dropped off nearly $1,200 worth of food donations Saturday.
