Jim Bjorklund as Javert and Brandon Teal as Valjean square off during "The Confrontation" of "Les Miserables"
More than 25 years after it opened on Broadway, and 150 years since the original novel by Victor Hugo was published, "Les Misérables" is more popular now than ever before. This weekend, a new production of the popular Boublil and Schonberg musical opens from Wausau Community Theatre.
Sunrise 7's Sean Caldwell spoke with Brandon Teal and Jim Bjorklund, who play Jean Valjean and Javert respectively, for a preview of the show.
"Les Misérables" opens Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the Grand Theater in Wausau, with evening performances Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m.
Tickets cost $21 for adults, $17 for seniors, college students, and military members, and $13 for high school and younger if you order by phone at (715) 359-3972.
There's an extra charge of three dollars for tickets at the door.
