"It's hard to define what it is," said the 90 FM's program director, Jesse Hinze. "It's more than just questions, it's more than just the music being played. It's a huge event, it defines Stevens Point pretty much."
Jim "The Oz" Oliva is one of the masterminds behind the contest. He and a partner have spent the last three and a half months coming up with 432 questions, of which he says there's no rhyme or reason.
Teams sign up from all over the world, and most keep coming back. This year, there's one team from Italy and another from China.
Eight questions will be read each hour and teams have the length of two songs to call in their answers. Specialty questions will also be a part of the contest, including a treasure hunt-style series of clues scattered around Stevens Point. The contest runs for 54 hours straight.
Working on a point system, the top ten teams will receive trophies. There are no cash prizes, but all the money raised goes back to the radio station and is kept on hand for scholarships.
