Hannah Formella and Alexa Haynes perform "How The Other Half Lives" from the musical "Thoroughly Modern Millie"
"Thoroughly Modern Millie" tells the story of a Kansas girl who moves to the big city with dreams of marrying a rich, eligible bachelor and even though things don't exactly turn out the way she planned, everyone gets a happy ending.
The show became the toast of Broadway in 2002, a year that included "Mamma Mia!" and "Urinetown," as well as the revivals of "Oklahoma!" and "Into the Woods." This weekend, a new production opens at Pacelli High School.
Sunrise 7's Sean Caldwell spoke with cast members Alexa Haynes (Millie) and Hannah Formella (Miss Dorothy) as well as director Paul Marszalkowski ahead of opening night.
"Thoroughly Modern Millie" opens this friday at Pacelli High School in Stevens Point with evening performances on the 7th, 8th, 13th, 14th and 15th at 7 p.m. and a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday, the 9th. Tickets are available at the box office 30 minutes before the show for $8 general admission, students and seniors get in for $5.
