A mystical Wisconsin creature is making his way onto the small screen. Rhinelander's famous mascot, the Hodag, will star in an episode of Scooby Doo.

The Hodag plays a villain who steals jewelry from the people of Crystal Cove, in an episode titled “Horror of the Hodag”. It's set to air Friday, August 3 at 1 p.m. on the Cartoon Network.

The Executive Director of the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce says it's exciting to see and says it's positive thing for the community. Lara Reed says, "I think it's a great opportunity for us to get a little bit of PR for people to think maybe we could see that Hodag thing. Is it real? Let's Google it and oh my gosh it's in Rhinelander maybe we should go there for our next vacation."
