A Plainfield couple has won $5,000 from Monsanto during the America's Farmers Grow Communities contest.
The contest awarded Eric and Kelly Weekly of Plainfield, the opportunity to win a $2,500 donation to direct to their favorite local nonprofit organization. To further support counties that have been declared disaster areas due to drought by the USDA.; winning farmers in these counties were able to double the donation, a total of $5,000 to further support the community.
The Weekly's selected Tri-County Area School District to receive both donations.
The check will be presented to the district Thursday night.
