Since the beginning of December until February, Schuette Metals in Rothschild, has been involved in a series of events with local schools as a part of their Manufacturing Days Celebration.
During the next few weeks, Schuette Metals will be engaging students at Wausau East, Wausau West, DC Everest and Mosinee High Schools in a welding simulator experience at their respective high schools.
The top three welders from each school will go on to compete in a district wide competition at the Schuette Welding Academy, in which the winners will be announced at an evening program on Feb. 6. There will be prizes awarded to both the winning school and the top three individual students.
Schuette Metals is also hosting High School Career Day at the end of January for students and their parents to tour the facility and meet with both shop and office employees in a casual setting to discuss the many careers available to them in manufacturing.
