The Mosinee Middle School Library will be presented with a $5,000 check in April after winning at national contest for classroom makeover.
"We are going to make some improvements technologically so that we can make sure we are ready for the 21st century classrooms. We want to make some changes with the workflow of the room and do some painting and shelving," says librarian Sandra Wurdeman.
The school beat out more than 500 other schools around the country to win the second place prize in the makeover contest.
The winner was determined based on which schools received the most online votes.

The Mosinee Middle School Library is one of 10 schools in a national online voting contest in the running for a $5,000 upgrade.
According to their online entry, Wurdeman’s school library, originally built in the 1930s, received 20,000 visitors last school year. The library will spend the money updating wiring, sound tiles, shelving and carpet to help support student needs. The money will also help create a handicapped accessible instructional space with interactive technologies.
The Great American Classroom Makeover contest ends Feb. 22. First prize is $5,000; second is $2,500 and third place winners will receive $1,000.
