October is National Bullying Prevention Month and Wednesday, staff and students at Medford Senior High who have experienced being bullied or know someone that has been bullied will wear orange during their UNITE Against Bullying Day.
The National Bullying Prevention Center says, more than 160,000 students in the U.S. stay home from school every day for fear of being bullied.
The school hopes to show that bullying won't be tolerated. Studies show that more than half of bullying situations will stop with peer intervention.
The student council will also give free hot chocolate to anyone who wears orange during the football game against Rhinelander on October 12.
