Beginning later this month, the Marathon County Public Library- Wausau branch will host a nature book club on the third Tuesday of each month.
The Steep Trails Book Club will be a discussion group focused on fiction and nonfiction about nature, science, conservation and outdoor adventures.
Authors read by the group could include Aldo Leopold, Rachel Carson, Edward Abbey, Bill McKibben, Gary Snyder and Mary Roach, said club organizer Chad Dally, library assistant at the Marathon County Public Library Wausau Headquarters.
The club begins June 18 and will be held at 7 p.m.
For the first meeting, club members will discuss “A Short History of Everything” by Bill Bryson.
Following the first meeting, club members will decide each month’s title and meeting place. Dally said he hopes the group could meet outdoors at a park or trail.
The club is free and open to the public. For more information, call 715-261-7234 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
