APPLETON, Wis. (AP) -- Lawrence University has a new president and he's from Princeton University.
WLUK-TV reports the Appleton college named Mark Burstein, executive vice president of Princeton University, as its 16th president.
He will succeed Jill Beck, who's retiring June 30 after nine years as president.
Lawrence officials say the 51-year-old brings an Ivy League connection along with a background in higher education leadership, government service, investment banking and consulting.
In a statement, the New Jersey native says he was drawn to Lawrence's academic environment, its individualized learning experiences, its liberal arts education and its conservatory of music.
