Kids Meet and Learn From Real Life Super Heros

The Boys and Girls club of Wisconsin Rapids started their super hero summer program off with quite the scene on Monday.

The Ministry Health Spirit crew flew in giving kids a chance to drill them and take a quick tour of their chopper.

"It was cool to learn about it and now that we get to see the helicopter that they work in is even better," said Weston Olds, 9.

Development Director of the Boys and Girls Club, Jill Kurszewski said they were looking for something that would get kids excited to come to the club and not just make it another place to go. She said it also helps teach them some of their core values.

"Super heros, they're always truthful and honor and respect others so it really helps to encapsulate what we teach here at Boys and Girls Club that we just want the kids to be great so we're giving them the tools here so that they can do that," she said.

Each day this week a new super hero crew will be featured. Tuesday, they'll focus on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and have Karate America come as their guest. The summer program runs for ten weeks. You can still sign your kid up if they want to join in on the fun. It's $10 for a year membership, which will also include their programs for the rest of the year. You can find out more information on their website at www.bgc.wra.org.
