With the Summer officially here, you may have plans to send your kids off to a Summer day camp. The State of Wisconsin has made it easy to check up on camps in your area, to make sure they're meeting licensing standards at inspection time.
Pat Murphy, Camping Services Director says licensing is a big part of finding the right camp to fit your child.
"Are they licensed through the state, licensed through the county? That's a key factor in finding a good camp."
Youngstar, is the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families' rating system for Child Care Providers. Besides daycares, the site lists the State's licensed day camps, and provides easy access to inspection records. (see link below)
Currently, Youngstar does not provide a Star Rating for camps, like it does for daycares. But the State plans on adding ratings for camps in 2014.
