No One in Custody Related to Weekend Murder

Wausau Police are calling the death of 18-year-old Breanna Marie Schneller a homicide assault. She is the woman who was killed in a 12th Avenue apartment Saturday afternoon.

Authorities said a forensic pathologist completed Schneller's autopsy Sunday, but the cause of death is not being released at this point in the investigation.

Schneller was found dead in an apartment on 1208 S. 12th Avenue Saturday afternoon. Authorities say the woman's roommate found her and called authorities.

She was a high school senior at D.C. Everest High School.

The Wausau Police Department responded to the scene at around 1:30 p.m.

A detective says they do not believe the public is in danger at this time, although they say no one is in custody in connection to the Schneller's death.

"We believe it was probably someone who knew Brianna and was familiar with Brianna's life, there are some indicators that we feel they probably knew the apartment and what to look for certain things," said Captain Jeff Hardel of the Wausau Police Department.

If you have any information about the homicide, you should call (715) 261-7991 or your local police department.
