It's going to cost Marathon County more than $40,000 to bring in a jury from another county.
The clerk of courts says it costs the county $42,000 to bring in a jury for two weeks to hear the James Emerson trial.
He's the man convicted in the 1999 murder of Rhonda Mertes.
The trial for Ponce-Rocha is expected to last two weeks.
And because the jury will be sequestered, meaning they can't have contact with anyone outside the courtroom, the county must foot the bill for lodging and food.
