The family had to wait for months for this verdict because of delays in the case.

In October, Ponce-Rocha's first attorney dropped out.

Public defender Mike Moran eventually picked up the case, but the trial had to be pushed back while he prepared.

Moran admits the case has been exhausting for the Schneller family, and says he did what he could for Ponce-Rocha.

Meanwhile, prosecutors say the verdict proves the justice system works.

"It's a difficult case, it's been a difficult case for the family. They've suffered, I know, for Ponce-Rocha's family, it has been difficult for them, the jury has reached a verdict and this is how our system of justice works," says Mike Moran, defense attorney.

"Relief, relief for the family, that this is finally over, there's justice for Breanna, there's going to be justice for the community as well," says Theresa Wetzsteon, prosecutor.

The judge is expected to set a sentencing day within 60 days.
