The day began with a continuation of testimony from Detective Cord Buckner, who interviewed Raul Ponce Rocha in the days following the murder.

In that interview the defendant told detectives he left work at El Tequila Salsa for about 20 minutes the morning Schneller was killed, but surveillance video shows he was gone closer to 40 minutes.

"He also makes a statement that he goes and then comes straight back and doesn't go anywhere else. So, that to me in my mind, he's putting himself in this location and there's a lot of time that's unexplained", said Detective Buckner.

Later in the day, Wausau Detecitve Matt Barnes took the stand.

He was in charge of the crime scene on May 2, 2009 and the first detective to enter the apartment where Breanna Schneller was murdered.

"By lack of evidence throughout the apartment I came to the conclusion that Breanna was attacked and killed right there in a very small confined space", said Detective Barnes.

In the days following the murder, Detective Barnes helped execute a search warrant of Ponce Rocha's home.

During that search, police recovered a knit glove from Ponce Rocha's bedroom floor.

That glove matched a glove police recovered from a dumpster behind El Tequila Salsa.

Detective Barnes also found 4 pair of women's underwear under Ponce Rocha's mattress.

The trial was scheduled to continue Saturday morning, but the state is ahead of schedule in calling it's witnesses.

Testimony will pick back up Monday morning, when DNA experts from the State Crime Lab are expected to testify.
