Monday marked the 2nd anniversary of the murder of D.C. Everest student Breanna Schneller.
But her legacy lives on through the foundation in her name.
Breanna's Smile Foundation was created by her father, Craig. The non-profit helps build leadership skills and encourage positive choices in the community.
Breanna was successful in her school's chapter of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America.
"I don't want people to remember Bre for the way we lost her--I want people to remember her for what she stands for and what she wanted and what we're trying to accomplish with this foundation," says Craig Schneller.
He says publishers have contacted him for a possible book and there may be a movie made about Breanna's life.
A fundraiser for the foundation is slated for August 12th and 13th at Coral Lanes in Rothschild.
