NEW INFO: Wausau Murder Suspect's Attorney asks to Withdraw from Case

Raul Ponce-Rocha

The attorney for Raul Ponce-Rocha has asked to withdraw from the case.

According to online court records and court officials, Gene Linehan made the motion to withdraw because Ponce-Rocha has not paid his fee.

The 22-year-old Ponce-Rocha is accused of murdering 18-year-old Breanna Schneller. She was found stabbed to death inside her Wausau apartment May second. Authorities have not release a motive for the crime.

Ponce-Rocha has pleaded not guilty to four charges, including first degree intentional homicide. He's being held on a $1 million cach bond. If convicted he could spend life in prison.

Ponce-Rocha's next court appearance was set for November, but if his attorney's motion to withdraw is granted that date will likely be pushed back.
