Friends Waiting For Justice

More than three weeks after the murder of D.C. Everest Senior Breanna Schneller, her friends say their emotional scars won't heal until justice is served.

So far, Raul Ponce-Rocha has been charged with first degree intentional homicide for Schneller's death.

Police Chief Jeff Hardel says substantial DNA evidence links Ponce-Rocha to the crime scene, as well as evidence found behind the El Tequilla Salsa Restaurant where Ponce-Rocha worked.

Court records show Breanna was stabbed multiple times in the head, chest and neck.

Her friends say they're patiently waiting for some kind of closure in her death.

"Shocked I didn't expect it to happen to her, so nice, had no reason to die like that. Die at all period," said Ben Krause, a former friend of Breanna.

Ponce-Rocha's next court appearance is set for June 15th.

Then he'll have a preliminary hearing where a judge will decide if there's enough evidence to send him to trial.

Chief Hardel says his department still hasn't ruled out the possibility of more people being charged in connection to Schneller's death.
